Why Child Nutrition Programs Change Everything

It’s hard for a child to focus on learning when they’re hungry. That simple fact is at the heart of why our Child Empowerment programme puts daily nutrition support right alongside education and mentorship — not as an afterthought, but as a foundation.

Across our 30 community centres, over 4,500 children now receive a nutritious daily meal alongside regular health check-ups and growth monitoring, helping us catch signs of malnutrition early, before they become long-term setbacks.

Skilled and healthy individuals contribute to local economies, helping build stronger and more sustainable communities — and that story starts with a child’s first years.

Parents tell us the difference shows up quickly — children who used to struggle to stay awake in afternoon classes are now more alert, more engaged, and missing far fewer school days than before.

We’re currently working with local nutritionists to expand our meal programme to include take-home ration kits for families facing the most acute food insecurity, so the support doesn’t stop at the centre door.
